Safeguarding – PVG/Adult Support and Protection Scotland
Our Security Guards and personnel are put through the Safeguarding course for Scotland, covering abuse, recognising signs, recording and reporting.
The course specifically updated by Red Rock Training to refer to Scottish regulations and legislation when looking at the protection of vulnerable groups, it covers the PVG scheme, which recommended that a registration system be implemented for any person who works in either a paid or unpaid capacity with children and protected adults in the UK.
Whilst it can be easy to assume that all adults with learning difficulties are vulnerable or at risk of harm, this is not necessarily the case and therefore the course our staff have undertaken explores the main categories of abuse, the signs and symptoms of abuse and what to do if you suspect abuse. The course has been mapped to required Learning Outcomes at Level 2 and as a result, it is relevant to any individual who has contact with or interacts with vulnerable adults in their daily work, including Security Personnel, Healthcare professionals, Care Workers, NHS Trusts, voluntary workers, charity workers and college staff.
Saltaire Security staff have therefore covered the topics below:
– Legislation Drivers
– Definitions of Abuse
– Types of Abuse
– Signs & Symptoms of Abuse
– Risk management process and its importance
– Dealing with Abuse
– Reporting Abuse or Suspected Abuse
– PVG Scheme
